One card, one answer

Yes or No Tarot

Hold a yes-or-no question in mind and draw a card. The card answers yes, no or maybe.

Your card

Think of a question that can be answered with yes or no, then ask the cards.

How yes or no tarot works

Every tarot card leans towards yes, no or maybe. Bright, forward-moving cards such as the Sun, the Star or the Ace of Cups say yes. Cards of loss or conflict, like the Tower or the Three of Swords, say no. Cards of waiting and reflection, such as the Hermit or the Two of Swords, say maybe.

CardSuffly uses the full 78-card deck. If reversed cards are on, a reversed card softens the answer: a yes card becomes maybe and a maybe becomes no.

Tips for a clearer answer

Ask one simple question at a time and keep it focused on you. Read the card’s meaning as well as the yes or no – it often explains why. Asking the same question many times in a row usually gives mixed answers, so let a reading rest.

Frequently asked questions

Which tarot cards mean yes?

Cards like the Sun, the Star, the World, the Lovers, the Ace of Cups and the Ten of Cups are classic yes cards.

Which tarot cards mean no?

The Tower, Death, the Devil, the Moon and difficult Swords such as the Three, Nine and Ten of Swords are common no cards.

Is a yes or no tarot reading accurate?

Tarot is a tool for reflection, not a prediction. Use the answer as a prompt to think, not as a final decision.
